The wide coverage of the Pacific Northwest Railroads Stream Network is made possible by mountain-top commercial communications sites and commercial-grade antennas, radios and equipment.  The site leases alone cost the stream hosts over $2,000 every year.  Donations go a long way toward keeping these streams online.

If you enjoy listening, please consider supporting our project by giving through the Pacific Northwest Railroads Stream Network website .  Your donation provides much needed financial support to keep the PNWRR streams running and does not financially benefit the owners of RailroadRadio.net in any way.  Thank you!

BNSF Seattle Sub Centralia North

We hear the Centralia North Dispatcher running BNSF, UP. Amtrak and Sounder Commuter trains between Tukwila, Wa and Nisqually, Wa. Weekday volumes on the north end of the Seattle Sub are high due to the 18 Sounder trains that run between Seattle and Tacoma. Trains traveling on the Seattle Sub often are on their way to or from BNSF's famous Stevens Pass Route to points east. Amtrak, Sounder, and the Union Pacific have trackage rights over the BNSF on the Seattle Sub.

Technical info:

The stream reciever is located on Baldi Mountain, aproximately 4000 feet above sea level.  The receiver is a Motorola M1225 connected to a Telewave ANT150D-3 2-bay folded dipole antenna fed with LMR-400 coax.  A filter eliminates interference from other radios at the site, and an active multicoupler splits the output of the filter to the multiple radios used for streaming and ATCS at the site.  The antenna is mounted 30 feet above the ground on the side of a 50 foot tower.  The reciever is connected to a Barix Instreamer100 to encode the audio which is fed to the Shoutcast Distributed Audio Server over a microwave internet link.
