BNSF Seattle and Scenic Subs (The "Race Track")

 

    We hear the Seattle Terminal Dispatcher running BNSF, Amtrak, and UP trains from Tukwila, Wa to Ballard, Wa. There is alot of action goin on in the terminal. Trains passing through Seattle often are on their way to or from BNSF's famous Stevens Pass Route to points east. Amtrak and the Union Pacific have trackage rights over the BNSF through the terminal.

Technical info:

The steam receiver is a Motorola Maxtrac connected to a TrainTenna™ outdoor antenna mounted 30 feet above the house. The house is located on the West Hill of Des Moines, Wa approx 200ft above the valley. We also have an Advanced Receiver P150VDG RF Preamp to help boost the signal into the receiver. The receiver is connected to a Compaq Proliant DL580 4x700mhz rack mounted server which is running VMWare. This stream is being ran on a vurtual instance of Windows 2003 enterprise Server and Winamp/Shoutcast DSP 1.9.1 to encode the audio which is fed to the Shoutcast Distributed Audio Server.
