In a 7 mile stretch between Hamilton and Burlington, the area is host to five Subdivisions. Four CN & one CP. More than 75 trains run through in a 24 hour period. The best times to see trains in the morning is from 6am to 10 am. In the afternoon from 12pm till 2pm and again from 4pm till 8pm. With that said.... anytime time is train time! For those with scanners, talking hot box detectors will give you advaned notice if anything is coming your way. A Google Maps link of the area is provided below. You can also get the local weather forecast via the Weather Network link as well. Many local railfans inhabit the Spring Gardens bridge off of Plains Rd. and they are all a friendly bunch that can answer all your questions. Plenty of run through power from CSX, BNSF, IC, WC, GT, UP, NS and various leasing companies can be seen on a daily basis. ( NOTE: Over the last few months there has been a draught as far as run through power goes. Hopefully in the new year we'll see a change.) So bring lots of film and or your favorite media! Many photo ops can be had from the numerous overhead bridges as well as line side. Enjoy the stream and be sure to come on up and visit if you can. You won't be disappointed!
